Horrid Lorry is the second episode of the fifth season. It aired during the airing of Storytime with Thomas in the US.
Plot[]
One morning, BoCo is late to collect his train from the docks. Cranky begins to criticize him, while BoCo complains there is too much work for the engines. Cranky suggests it would be better if lorries did his work. BoCo is shocked by this. Later at the sheds, BoCo tells the other engines what Cranky had said. James and Henry are dismissive, but BoCo worries that lorries might truly come. The Fat Controller agrees that they are coming to help on Edward's Branch Line.
Unfortunately, three lorries do indeed arrive and while Cranky is overjoyed, they also turn out to be incredibly rude with one of them calling BoCo a smelly box of scrap iron. Later, when BoCo sees Donald and Douglas, he finds another lorry being rude to them and calls BoCo a big green goblin on wheels and saying that he will be scrapped. The Scottish Twins are both disgusted at the lorry's behaviour, calling him fangle nuisance and rotten.
At the clay pits, Edward runs across another lorry who tells him that he belongs in a museum, tells him to toodle off and calls him one of the teapots. Edward's driver tells him to ignore the lorry and they proceed to the flour mill. But when they arrive at the flour mill, Edward is shocked to find yet another lorry, who tells Edward that they are doing his jobs now. The foreman tells Edward's driver that he is sorry for Edward's replacement but the times were changing. Edward's driver then tells him they will head to the Vicarage Orchard, hoping they will still be able to use him.
Back at the clay pits, Bill and Ben enter a canyon, where they watch the lorry Edward met at the quarry having trouble navigating on a treacherous road above with his load of rocks. The lorry then falls off a cliff and crashes onto the rocks below, much to their horrors.
The twins take the smashed lorry back to the docks on Judy and Jerome's flatbed, where BoCo begins to laugh at him and calls him a steaming lump of scrap iron like the lorry called him. Butch arrives with the lorry from the flour mill. He explains to Edward's driver that the lorry was overloaded with flour and broke down. Bill and Ben whistle excitedly as they watch men bringing the third lorry in on a barge. Butch elaborates that the lorry reversed into the sea. The Fat Controller arrives, feeling rather furious at the disgraced lorries and calls them The Brothers Grim: "Smashed," "Broken" and "Sunk." He tells the lorries that they will be expelled for good. They vow to return, but never do. The engines commit themselves to their work to ensure the lorries never return.

- Lorry 1 (referring to BoCo): Oh look, its a big green goblin on wheels. You'll be scrapped. Just you wait and see.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
- Lorry 2: Ha! No wonder this railway's in a mess, you belong in a museum, not working on the Branch Line.
- Edward: Well I might look old, but I'm still really useful, you old rattler!
- Lorry 2: Useful?! Pah! Just you toodle off like the rest of you teapots!
- Edward: Teapots?!
_____________________________________________________________________________________
- BoBo: (after seeing the wrecked lorry being brought back to the docks on Judy and Jerome's flatbed by Bill and Ben) What's this lump of steaming scrap iron?
- Lorry 2 (after being practically destroyed): I'll be back, so you can wipe that silly smile off your air intake or some other engines' smokeboxes!
- Bill and Ben: Pah!
- Edward's driver (after seeing a lorry being pulled by Butch): What happened?
- Butch: He was overloaded with flour and he broke down.
- Edward: (teasing the lorries) Not very useful now are you?
- Lorries 2 and 3: Grrrrr!
_____________________________________________________________________________________
- Donald: They're bringing in the third lorry on a barge!
- Douglas: Och aye, what happened to that one?
- Butch: Oh him? That dumb lorry was reversing and fell straight into the sea.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
- The Fat Controller: (looks at the damaged lorries) This is pathetic! It's like the Brothers Grimm: Smashed, Broken and Sunk! I shall not be inviting you back!
