Elizabeth the Vintage Lorry, retitled Elizabeth the Vintage Quarry Truck in American releases, is the sixth episode of the sixth series.
Plot[]
Toby is pulling a special to Knapford. It is heavy, but needs to get to the harbour in time for a boat. He is puffing so hard that his sideplate fall off. Toby's crew see an old disused shed, which Toby thinks it looks familiar. Toby's crew discover a vintage Sentinel lorry named Elizabeth. She has been sheeted for many decades, and has not been out since. Toby's fireman puts some of Toby's coal in her fire, and soon she is out and working again.
Elizabeth is initially happily to see her old friend Toby, she drives off to the works to get new sideplates for him. She still is not quite ready, and discovers that her engine can only just manage hills. But as she goes back to Toby, she meets George the Steamroller then arrives and insults her. As she returns, she scolds him not to be carless. Toby shockingly asks Elizabeth what the wrong is. Elizabeth apologizes for snapping at him and tells Toby about George. Toby informs Elizabeth that George is a nasty steamrolloer and suggests her to ignore him, so he sets off to the harbour. He arrives just in time for the boat, the Fat Controller asks Toby if there was something happened during his journey. Toby explains about his sideplate, and about how found Elizabeth The Fat Controller surprisingly asks Toby that he did say that he and his crew found her, Toby's fireman agrees. The Fat Controller is excited about his father's truck and asks Toby to take him to see Elizabeth on Henrietta. Toby returns to Elizabeth's shed with the Fat Controller aboarding on Henrietta. Elizabeth is excited to see the guest: Sir Charles Topham Hatt who jumps out of Henrietta and and feels so happy to see his father's truck. He tells her that she was stored in her shed before Toby's branch line had closed down, and Elizabeth tells the Fat Controller that she was stored away in her shed also when younger and fast automobiles. Toby tells Elizabeth about her adventures like saving the constable by ringing his bell at him from being crashed by the car, rescuing Mrs. Kyndley from her snowed cottage and discovering Bertram. Elizabeth feels impressed with Toby's adventures, and Toby smilely agrees. The Fat Controller has Jem Cole restore her to her original beauty with his father's plaque: "Sir Bertram Topham Hatt" and "1880 - 1956". Even after everything, Toby ends up admitting that the Fat Controller's father would be pleased of the plaque, the Fat Controller agrees. They look up in the sky to see the Fat Controller's father staring into the clouds and share the heartwarming smile. Elizabeth now works on Thomas and Toby's branch lines and works on the Skarloey Railway besides Stepney's branch line.
