The Viking Railway Series

Hayate Mallingford Viaduct was built in 1865 and, along with the nearby tunnel, was the major engineering feature of the line. the mallingford viaduct spans a large, spectacular gorge. A stepped path descends into the gorge and goes under the Mallingford viaduct.

In 1961, Tony NG Engine stalled on the mallingford viaduct with a passenger train out of jealousy for not being polished. Kaigo had to come to Tony’s rescue.

  • Hayate Mallingford Viaduct is based on Rheneas Viaduct and Dolgoch Viaduct on the Talyllyn Railway.
  • Hayate Mallingford Viaduct was used to represent a location on the Mid Berk Railway in the fourth series episodes, Granpuff, Sleeping Beauty and Bulldog.
