  • Stephen Patton: One of the branch lines is Thomas's on the Island of Sodor. You would've seen engines are friendly, but sometimes funny. Regardless, Thomas and his branch line pals were really happy together. However, even though they were really useful together. Some of them had missed their old homes, especially Thomas in his case. He usually loved working on his branch line, however he began to feel homesick. One morning, Thomas was feeling sad in the shed between Toby and Percy.
  • Percy: Anything okay, Thomas?
  • Stephen Patton: Asked Percy.
  • Mavis: Why are you sad?
  • Stephen Patton: Asked Mavis.
  • Thomas: I'm fine. I'm just missing my old home.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Thomas.
  • Percy: You mean, you lived on the Mainland you came from? I lived there too. But now I was sent back to the workshop.
  • Stephen Patton: Replied Percy.
  • Percy: Until one day, Sir Topham Hatt bought me to work on the island for many years. And especially when we work on our branch line.
  • Mavis: And I used to work on the Great Western Railway for years like where Duck used to live, until I got transferred to this island.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Mavis.
  • Mavis: But then, Diesel 10 came to destroy me. We both ran away from him. But during the chase, my old driver used up all my coal and made my go too fast, causing Diesel 10 to catch up and crash me. I stayed on Muffle Mountain for years until I came back to life. And thanks to you Thomas, and Lily for bringing me a new coal to make me steam, and now I'm back on Sodor.
  • Percy: But then, you and Thomas had been chased by Diesel 10 with an ugly man on his roof.
  • Stephen Patton: Huffed Percy.
  • Thomas: But now you're safe at last.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: And being really useful again.
  • Stephen Patton: He was happy that Toby had to stay in the four sheds. But he was still feeling sad for missing his brother Leo, sister and parents.
  • Percy: What was your sister's name?
  • Stephen Patton: Asked Percy.
  • Percy: I had my sister Liz too. She’s long gone. You remember her, don't you?
  • Thomas: It's my sister, Jazz.
  • Stephen Patton: Sighed Thomas.
  • Thomas: She's a tank engine like like us. And my parents were Timothy. That's my dad, and Penny's my mom too. But Sodor just isn't the same.
  • Percy: Cheer up.
  • Stephen Patton: Smiled Percy.
  • Percy: It's a beautiful morning, and we've got work to do.
  • Mavis: Sh, sh, someone's coming.
  • Stephen Patton: Replied Mavis. It was Sir Topham Hatt who had arrived on Winston.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, you will take my wife to the castle on Toby's Branch Line near the old mine for some tea with the Duke and Duchess. Percy, you will take the quarry cars to the harbour, and Toby, you'll have to take Pat to the workshop for repairs because he was broken down again. Butch was busy towing my mother's car to get there too.
  • Thomas, Percy and Toby: Yes sir!
  • Stephen Patton: Replied the engines.
  • Mavis: That'll take your mind off it.
  • Stephen Patton: Percy said to Thomas as the engines set to work at once. But Thomas was upset all day. He was taken Lady Hatt to the castle where the Duke and Duchess were waiting. When he got there, Lady Hatt and the Duke and Duchess thanked Thomas. He felt very pleased with himself. But secretly, he couldn't stop thinking about the Mainland. When the day's work was almost done, Toby Diesel and Mavis tried to cheer Thomas up, but to no avail. Later that night, The 3 engine came back to the harbour and talked to the engines and the Star Tugs while Thomas was asleep back at the sheds.
  • Mavis: I don't know why he's so sad all the time. I just loved him just the way he is. What you don't even see him unhappy.
  • Puffa: Well, Toby. Sometimes it just happens. Perhaps our nephew as your boyfriend saw something that reminded him of his home and it made him feeling down.
  • Patrick Allen: Said Puffa.
  • Ten Cents: That reminds me.
  • Patrick Allen: Said Ten Cents.
  • Ten Cents: We all missed our old home along way from here.
  • Sunshine: I know. But we've finally got our new home. And we're always happy work around here.
  • Patrick Allen: Said Sunshine.
  • Chuffa: I'm sure he'll feel better tomorrow after the good night's rest, dear.
  • Patrick Allen: Said Chuffa.
  • Toby: I sure hope so. But I'm not sure what to do.
  • Stephen Patton: Thought Toby. Thomas didn't feel any better the next day either. Annie and Clarabel could tell him he was upset, but said nothing. Later on, he dropped off his passengers at Ffarquhar. When Lady arrived, he could see that Thomas was sulking, but he did do his job very well. Lady decided to talk with him. She asked Toby to take her train while he set off to find Thomas.
  • Lady: Thomas, I don't understand what's the matter with you. But you gotta stop thinking about it. Sir Topham Hatt is relying on us.
  • Thomas: Oh, right!
  • Stephen Patton: Lady kept thinking about how she helped her boyfriend. Then she had an idea.
  • Lady: Come with me.
  • Stephen Patton: Chuffed Lady when it was almost dark.
  • Thomas: Where?
  • Stephen Patton: Asked Thomas.
  • Thomas: It's getting late.
  • Lady: Not too late. I got something to show you. I know where.
  • Stephen Patton: Tooted Lady. Thomas and Lady puffed down Liz's Branch Line. Thomas could see there was buffers at the dead end.
  • Thomas: There's ahead!
  • Stephen Patton: Cried Thomas.
  • Thomas: Stop!
  • Stephen Patton: But Lady didn't until the two engines puffed through when there was something strange instead of crashing.
  • (Thomas and Lady go through the magic buffers)
  • Thomas: I didn't know it was the magic buffers.
  • Stephen Patton: Thought Thomas. He looked up in the sky, it was only a night with the stars up there.
  • Lady: Look, straight ahead.
  • Stephen Patton: Whistled Lady. There down to the end of the line was a pond. Thomas was uncoupled from Lady and looked down at the pond.
  • Thomas: That's not my dad, just my reflection.
  • Stephen Patton: Sighed Thomas, feeling rather disappointed.
  • Lady: Just look harder.
  • Stephen Patton: Called Lady. She used her magic gold dust to land over the pool. It rippled form, distorting Thomas' reflection; they resolved into the silver tank engine and the yellow tank engine's faces. A deep rumbling noise was heard.
  • Lady: You see, they live in you.
  • Stephen Patton: Whispered Lady. Thomas was awestruck. The wind picked up fiercely. In front of him was the image of the two tank engines were forming from the clouds. They appeared to be rolling a little closer to Thomas. The image was ghostly at first, but steadily gains color and coherence.
  • Timothy: Thomas, is it really you?
  • Thomas: Dad? Mom?
  • Stephen Patton: Asked Thomas. He was delighted.
  • Thomas: Mom! Dad! You've came! I thought you were scrapped.
  • Timothy: We're ghosts now. But don't be scared, son.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Timothy.
  • Penny: We're alive now.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Penny.
  • Penny: And who's right next to you?
  • Thomas: This is Lady. She helped me find away to see you both.
  • Stephen Patton: Explained Thomas.
  • Thomas: And I've been living on Sodor with all my friends for many years. And especially my branch line I work on.
  • Timothy: Splendid!
  • Stephen Patton: Exclaimed Timothy.
  • Penny: You've had a wonderful time.
  • Stephen Patton: Smiled Penny.
  • Thomas: Thanks.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Thomas. Then, he had an idea.
  • Thomas: Why don't you come with us to Sodor to meet our friends.
  • Timothy: That's marvelous!
  • Stephen Patton: Exclaimed Timothy happily.
  • Penny: We love too!
  • Stephen Patton: Cried Penny happily too. Then, the two engines led the ghost engines the way, puffing through the magic buffers.
  • (Thomas, Lady, Timothy and Penny go through the magic buffers)
  • Stephen Patton: Back at the sheds, Percy was still asleep in his berth and had no idea that the four engines were approaching him.
  • (Thomas, Lady, Timothy and Penny approach Percy and scare him)
  • Percy: Help! Ghost engines!
  • Stephen Patton: Cried Percy when he woke up!
  • Lady: Calm down, Percy.
  • Stephen Patton: Whistled Lady.
  • Lady: They're not here to scare you. Go ahead, Thomas.
  • Stephen Patton: Thomas introduced Percy to Timothy and Penny. The two ghost engines were very happy to meet him. Then Lady had made a plan. And she spoke to Sir Topham Hatt the next morning. And he told him about Thomas' parents the ghost engines.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: There are no such thing as ghosts.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Sir Topham Hatt firmly.
  • Lady: Don't be silly, sir.
  • Stephen Patton: Laughed Lady.
  • Lady: Why don't you let me show you.
  • Stephen Patton: Sir Topham Hatt wasn't sure. But typically agreed. He scrambled into Lady's cab, and set off back to Ffarquhar. At last, Lady showed and explained the ghost engines to Sir Topham Hatt. He was scared.
  • Lady: It's okay, sir. They're not scary, they're fatherly and motherly.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Lady. Sir Topham Hatt was relieved.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Welcome to Sodor, Timothy and Penny.
  • Stephen Patton: He turned to Thomas.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Are those engines you told me about?
  • Thomas: Yes, sir.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Thomas.
  • Thomas: They're my parents.
  • Stephen Patton: Then Lady had another plan.
  • Lady: Do you think we can do it, sir?
  • Stephen Patton: She asked.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well, Lady. If it will help Thomas, we might as well give it a shot.
  • Lady: Oh, thank you, sir!
  • Stephen Patton: Said Lady.
  • Lady: That would be lovely!
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Right then.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Sir Topham Hatt.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: We'll do it tomorrow evening. I will make the arrangements.
  • Stephen Patton: And Lady winked at Sir Topham Hatt. The next evening, all the engines gathered around at Knapford Station after they got to know Timothy and Penny, including, the Star Tugs were reached each on every truck, and Chuffa had pushed them into place behind Puffa who was right next to Mikey. Thomas was quiet and kept to himself.
  • Lady: Hey Thomas.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Lady.
  • Lady: I know this isn't home, but at least we have another one, and your family isn't going anymore. Maybe you can go back and visit one day.
  • Stephen Patton: Thomas looked at his girlfriend.
  • Thomas: I suppose you're right, Lady. And... I'm just glad we're here. It would be nice if I had a bit of the Mainland with me, though.
  • Sir Topham Hatt: Well.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Sir Topham Hatt:
  • Sir Topham Hatt: I've got a surprise for you, Thomas.
  • Stephen Patton: Thomas looked ahead. Puffing towards him with the two engines that had shapes like him.
  • Thomas: Leo and Jazz!
  • Stephen Patton: He gasped.
  • Thomas: I'm very happy to see you!
  • Leo: We're very happy to see you, little brother.
  • Stephen Patton: Smiled Leo.
  • Jazz: Hiya, big brother!
  • Thomas: What's all this for?
  • Stephen Patton: Asked Thomas.
  • Lady: For you Thomas.
  • Stephen Patton: Lady replied.
  • Lady: There's going to be a best family reunion you ever have.
  • Thomas: I wish Janny and Tommy my grandparents were here.
  • Stephen Patton: Lady was surprised.
  • Lady: Oh dear! I forgot! I'd better make them alive when I get back to the magic railroad. I'll be back.
  • Stephen Patton: And she bustled away. Soon, Lady went back to the magic railroad to us her magic gold dust to land over the pool. They resolved into two more tank engines that had a shape like Timothy. One was brown, and the other was dark red.
  • Lady: You must be Thomas's grandparents: Janny and Tommy.
  • Janny: Yes indeed. I'm his grandmother.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Janny.
  • Tommy: And I'm his grandfather.
  • Stephen Patton: Said Tommy. Then Lady led them to Knapford for the reunion. When they returned, the family reunion began. Thomas loved it. Even though, he was far from the Mainland. He felt right at home. And he was smiling all night.
