John is a narrow gauge tank engine who works on the Mid Sodor Railway.
Bio
John was built in 1895 and arrived on the Mid Sodor Railway in 1896 along with Jennings, he first worked at Ulfstead Road.
When Smudger got turned into a generator in 1905, John and Jennings keep running to the mines to find Bertram, when Bertram got renumbered back to 2, Jennings was overhauled and got lost.
In 1906, the manager buy an engine for the NWNGR to work at Ulfstead Road after Jennings was found. this was completed in 1923 after Freddie got overhauled, Jerry arrived on the railway.
When the Mountain Road closed in 1936, John and Jennings were trapped in a mine while Duke saved him in 1963.
