Ffarquhar Stationmaster (1930-) was the stationmaster of Ffarquhar from 1949 to 1999, fifty-years in the role. He is now retired, sixty-nine years old as of 1999, and spending time attending his garden.

Stationmaster's Wife (1934-) is the wife of the Ffarquhar Stationmaster. She once scolded Thomas in 1960 for ruining their breakfast.

Sally Mighor, also known as The Refreshment Lady, (1906-1986) was the first refreshment lady on the skarloey railway. She was once left behind by Peter Sam in 1952. She retired in 1965, and let her daughter take over the refreshments. She died in 1986.
