Michael Angelis UK Version[]

  • Michael Angelis: Whiff the Rubbish Engine loved working at the Waste Dump on Steven's Branch Line, pulling or pushing trucks full of rubbish to and from the dump. But one day, there was a bit too much work for him to be done. Soon, the Fat Controller brought a new engine to help Whiff to complete his job on time. But he looked very cross.
  • Scruff: (scoffs) What's this? A shed!?
  • Whiff: Hello there! I spent all the time shunting trucks around here. What's your name?
  • Scruff: What's my name!? The name's Scruff!
  • Michael Angelis: Whiff was shocked.
  • Whiff: It's not nice to speak to me like that. I'm Whiff.
  • Scruff: Huh! This dump is no good at all. I've just came along the way, just get into a dead end. Now I'm sick and tired, I want a rest!
  • Whiff: Oh! You have got to work! Here are my rubbish trucks!
  • Michael Angelis: Whiff showed the trucks filled with rubbish every chute and the crane loaded it in.
  • Scruff: (sniffs) Ugh! Stinks!
  • Whiff: I know! The stinky way you see...
  • Narrator: And he explained about the rubbish wagons he always shunted to every place. But Scruff was not impressed.
  • Scruff: Come on!
  • Trucks: Oh! Who was that!?
  • Scruff: Come on, you worthy trucks! Now take it down this dump!
  • Michael Angelis: Whiff was shocked. Scruff's attitude was not good. He had been taken the wagons down the line. He gave them a bump as they were the troublesome trucks.
  • (Guard's whistle blows)
  • Trucks: Ow! What was that for?!
  • Scruff: Get in line!
  • Michael Angelis: But the day was over. The trucks were cross.
  • Trucks: We don't think we'll be going with that engine again.
  • Whiff: But he's the only engine available.
  • Michael Angelis: Scruff surveyed the shed. He saw the Steam Trio.
  • Scruff: What's this I see? The large colorful puffballs! (laughs)
  • Michael Angelis: Alain, Steven, Ellie and Barry were offended.
  • Alain: Hey, you take that back!
  • Steven: You might be a small engine.
  • Barry: But we're all really useful.
  • Ellie: Remember, we make a better team together.
  • Michael Angelis: Vulgar whistles treated this. But Scruff didn't care. He just went back to the dump for a sleep in the shed in a huff. For the next few days, his bad attitude was out of control. He was rough with the trucks, Alain's brake van Queen Mary, and even the engines at the Aluminium Company.
  • Ted: He would've got into trouble.
  • Dawn: He might be acting so terribly.
  • Sheffield: Take no notice of him. He's just feel a little aggressive like I used to be when I was back on the Steelworks.
  • Michael Angelis: As Scruff left the company, the trucks decided to carry on their plan as they went down the branch line. They began to give Scruff a push.
  • Trucks: On, on, on!
  • Michael Angelis: And banged their buffers and push Scruff down the line.
  • Scruff: Oh, not so fast!
  • Michael Angelis: Scruff suddenly saw that the switch had failed and that he had been diverted into a siding.
  • Scruff's Driver: Look out Scruff!
  • (Scruff crashes into the buffers)
  • Michael Angelis: The driver and fireman had jumped clear, but the steel bars spilled out of the trucks, blocking the line.
  • Driver: If you hadn't been such a fool none of this would happened.
  • Michael Angelis: They went for a telephone. An engine arrived with a passenger train. Scruff blessed as the engine was going to laugh at him. But to his surprise he was looking worried. Myles and Olympus were sent to clear the track when the Fat Controller arrived. He spoke severely to Scruff.
  • The Fat Controller: You are a very irresponsible engine! You have been treated the others so terribly and bullied all the engines on this branch line. And because of that, you have caused confusion and delay! You will be carried on at Whiff's Waste Dump and you will have listen to his advice.
  • Michael Angelis: Scruff felt very ashamed.
  • Scruff: Yes, sir.
  • Michael Angelis: Fortunately, Scruff wasn't badly damaged and spoke to the engines that night.
  • Scruff: I'm sorry for the way I acted.
  • Alain: You're sorry? You've got to get your attitude together.
  • Whiff: He's right you know.
  • Michael Angelis: Scruff said nothing. He just looked at his buffers outside the shed. Just then, the voice arrived.
  • ???: Why do you ask for advice?
  • Scruff: I'm too afraid to ask you anything. We knew at all. We didn't ask anyone how.
  • Michael Angelis: Queen Mary was on the other hand.
  • Queen Mary: Won't you help Scruff tomorrow, Whiff?
  • Whiff: I think that's a great idea, Mary.
  • Michael Angelis: The next morning, Whiff and Scruff worked together, pushing trucks into the sidings, and the crane put some into the machine so it squashed them into cubes. The job was messier than ever, but Scruff didn't mind it. He was no longer to be a horrid engine, he was really useful of all.
