There are lighthouses all over the Island of Sodor, which are needed to warn ships that get too close to the rocky shore. The first one was seen in the third series and has made regular appearances since. It is located at Tidmouth Beach. As of the eleventh series, Cyril appears to be the lighthouse's keeper. It returned in CGI in the sixteenth series episode, Thomas and the Rubbish Train.
